No.2 rd Community Hall

During our visit in a church at Te Puke, we were told to visit this community hall. Although it was not built as a church it was built by Protestants to be used as the centre of town. Although it was never used as a town centre because the train could not reach that far. The town, Te Puke, later relocated to a few kilometres down the road.
This building has been used a church with the first wedding taking place in 1885 and later on as a school until it was later abandoned for a few years until its modern restoration.
Although I cannot confirm the sources, our local source said that the protestant builders banned any catholics from using the building.
A local myth or not, we can know with somewhat assured certainty that this is no longer the case.
